Subaru Crosstrek and Crosstrek Hybrid have slight price increases in 2022

Subaru has released pricing information for the 2022 Crosstrek and 2022 Crosstrek Hybrid. The cost of both models is higher than for the 2021 model year, but the increase is relatively small, and the Japanese company has also increased mandatory destination fees.

Buyers again have four decoration levels to choose from, namely basic, advanced, sports and limited. The basic model with a standard six-speed manual transmission starts at $22,445, an increase of $200 from 2021. However, the destination fee rose from US$1,050 to US$1,125, so the entry-level 2022 cost Crosstrek reached US$23,570 (an increase of US$275 from 2021). Buyers who replace the joystick with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) will cost $24,920, including destination.

Moving up, the premium six-speed manual starts at US$24,720, and the CVT starts at US$26,070, an increase of US$375. Next, Sport is priced at US$27,545, while Limited is priced at US$29,045. Both trim levels are dedicated to two pedals. Finally, the Crosstrek Hybrid will start at US$36,770 in 2022. Once included in the more expensive destination fees, it will increase by US$375 compared to 2021.

There are multiple independent options and option packages for the 2022 model year. For example, Subaru charges premium buyers $1,995 for an equipment package that includes sunroofs, keyless entry with button ignition, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, and blind spot detection technology with rear intersection warnings. When ordered separately, the price of the skylight is $1,000.

Subaru will not make mechanical changes in 2022; it will add a larger and more powerful engine within the scope of 2021. The basic and advanced models are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque, while Sport and Limited get 2.5-liter units tuned to 182 and 176, respectively. Regardless of engine displacement, permanent all-wheel drive is standard.

Distributors across the United States will begin receiving 2022 Crosstrek and 2022 Crosstrek Hybrid in the first quarter of 2022.
