Meet NVIDIA DRIVE Con​​cierge and DRIVE Chauffeur

In his GTC keynote, NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang announced NVIDIA DRIVE Con​​cierge and DRIVE Chauffeur, two artificial intelligence platforms dedicated to eliminating the stress and annoyance of daily driving. These smart technologies have changed the digital experience in the car.

The software-defined vehicle will contain two key computers built with NVIDIA DRIVE Orin: one for AI assistant, DRIVE Con​​cierge, and the other for autonomous driving, DRIVE Chauffeur. DRIVE Con​​cierge adopts NVIDIA DRIVE IX technology and NVIDIA Omniverse Avatar, and directly cooperates with DRIVE Chauffeur based on NVIDIA DRIVE AV technology to redefine the in-car experience.

As cities reopen, traffic is recovering—in some states, it has exceeded—pre-pandemic levels. Experts predict that vehicle travel will continue to increase, and the new work-from-home hybrid power may lead to a reduction in the frequency of traffic congestion during peak hours in the future.

A true smart assistant

Omniverse Avatar connects voice AI, computer vision, natural language understanding, recommendation engine and simulation. The avatars created on the platform are interactive characters with ray-traced 3D graphics that can see, speak, talk on a wide range of topics, and understand the intention of natural speaking.

Omniverse Avatar’s technology makes DRIVE Con​​cierge everyone’s digital assistant, helping them make recommendations, make reservations, make phone calls, and provide alerts, such as whether the wallet is in the car. Using the Omniverse avatar, you will be able to have a natural conversation with the vehicle and use your voice to control many functions that previously required physical controls or touch screens.

In the demonstration of the DRIVE Con​​cierge AI platform during the GTC keynote speech, the digital assistant on the central screen of the dashboard can help the driver choose the best driving mode to arrive at the destination on time.

DRIVE Con​​cierge is also an on-demand valet parking service that parks the car so that the driver can easily move on. It is also a guardian, using internal cameras and multi-modal interaction to ensure that the driver will focus on the road when necessary.

Drivers and passengers can also understand the idea of ​​vehicle AI through Omniverse Avatar’s 3D graphics. DRIVE Con​​cierge is tightly integrated with DRIVE Chauffeur to provide high-quality 360-degree 4D visualization with low latency, so the driver can sit comfortably and trust Chauffeur to drive safely.

This cooperation between the systems also enables DRIVE Con​​cierge to perform functions such as summoning vehicles, searching for parking spaces, and reconstructing the 3D surround view of the vehicle using neural graphics.
