GMC boss Duncan Aldred (Duncan Aldred) said that for some families, this will be a very Hummer Christmas, because General Motors said it will start delivering electric GMC Hummer pickups in December. We now know the EPA mileage of a truck: it can travel 329 miles on a single charge.

General Motors had previously predicted that Hummer’s cruising range would reach 350 miles.

This 329-mile figure applies to Hummer Edition 1, a top-of-the-line model priced at more than $100,000, and it will be the first truck to roll off the assembly line. Version 1 will also tow up to 7,500 pounds and carry up to 1,300 pounds.

Aldred told reporters on the conference call that subsequent lower-priced models will achieve longer cruising range and will be launched in 2023.

However, more than 80% of Hummer’s bookings are for version 1. Aldred said that of the 125,000 people who expressed interest in the Hummer, almost half had already booked one for $100. General Motors has said that Hummer’s production in the first year has been sold out.

this Hummer Together with the Rivian R1T, EV became the first electric pickup truck to be marketed. Ford’s F-150 Lightning will be launched in 2022, and other electric vehicles and startups from Detroit are expected to launch after that. Tesla is building a $1 billion factory in Austin, Texas, which, among other things, will build Cybertruck, even though the timetable has passed.

In contrast, the development of Hummer took only 18 months. President Biden caused a sensation last week when he visited GM’s zero factory assembly plant in Hamtrak, Michigan. Biden happily showed the acceleration of this 4-ton, 1,000-horsepower truck, and it is said that it can achieve 0-60 in 3.1 seconds. Then he announced, “This fool is something else.”

GM will next launch the Cadillac Lyriq SUV in 2022. Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra electric pickup trucks will be released on January 5. Hummer’s SUV version will be launched in 2023. Aldred expects that SUVs will eventually be produced to account for most of Hummer’s sales.
